Looks like you have to have a dns server going which makes me a little nervous. What would a settup program have to go out to the internet for? Is this some kind of back door registration? Did we just give a hacker a back door into our network? I hope support will give a thurogh answer.

Thanks,

-John

John. If you actually take a look at the url it that it goes back to it goes to Davids realtime news setup.

This is the url it tracks to: http://www.g2soft.net/news/pentacle/pentaclenews.htm

That HTML file looks to be a summary file that summarizes the information on this page:

http://www.g2soft.net/news/pentacle/

He uses it to display information about there being updates or any new software he may have. This is the "Pentacle News" section on the page. It is the blue box to the right.

By the looks of it, it looks like it uses a XML/XHTML feed. As a network administrator I can understand your security concerns. I am sure David will provide a more thorough explination, but I figure it is a little peace of mind till then.
